On the night of Saturday, the police and fire brigade had to return to Volkspark Friedrichshain. First young adults turned on each other, then on the police!
Around 12:30 a.m., the officers arrived in the park near Danziger Strasse – actually because several people are said to have fought. But then the police officers themselves were attacked by several mostly young men.

The situation only calmed down when the officers received reinforcements from several police departments and a squad of hundreds.
The Volkspark Friedrichshain was cleared. Three young men were arrested and taken to the detention center. It was not yet known whether police officers were injured.
In the past few weeks, there have been repeated accumulations of young, often aggressive adults in the Volkspark Friedrichshain. The police had to evacuate the facility several times, most recently about a week ago.
