The Greens want to condemn all homeowners to installing heat pumps. But: So far they have failed to install such a device in their party headquarters!
As the “Spiegel” reports, the Greens wanted to use the renovation of their federal office in Berlin to renew the heating system in addition to the renovation of the rooms, making them climate-neutral.
Problem: The pump still doesn’t run three and a half years after the start of the renovation!
In order to be able to heat the old building in Berlin-Mitte with renewable energy, a complex system of pipes and cables had to be laid. Its installation was apparently particularly difficult.
What’s more: In order for the pump to work at all and distribute heat in the house, a deep hole had to be drilled for a geothermal probe, as is the case with many models.
This required a permit, a special machine and trained personnel. That lasted. Then finally could loud “Mirror“ the special drilling machine had to be lifted over the roof into the inner courtyard of the office.
Drilling was carried out in May this year. According to the report, the heat pump can probably go into operation at the end of the third quarter. Total cost: five million euros.
A spokeswoman for the Greens said that the “Spiegel” article was “incorrect in parts, including the installation time of the geothermal heat pump.”
