Shannen Doherty’s battle with cancer continues.
Actress Shannen Doherty, 52, shared on Instagram on Tuesday that her breast cancer, which she was first diagnosed with back in 2015, has spread to her brain.
The news was shared with emotion on video, in which Doherty cried while undergoing radiation therapy. The process requires patients to wear a custom-made mask that holds the head in place during the treatment so that the radiation hits the tumor as precisely as possible.
– On January 5, my CT scan found a tumor in my brain, Doherty said in an Instagram update.
– January 12 was the first radiotherapy. Of course it’s scary.
Doherty says she was very claustrophobic and that “a lot was happening in my life” when the treatment was carried out.
– The fear, the turmoil, the timing of everything. This is what cancer can look like, he writes.
