The trading association Sport 2000 GmbH has promoted the international expansion of its running concept Absolute Run. On June 1st, the first store of the format in Belgium was opened in the Wallonian metropolis of Liège. In addition, Absolute Run has eight stores in Germany and a branch in Dubai.
For the expansion in Belgium, Sport 2000 entered into a partnership with the established running sports provider Jogging Plus. Its shop in Liège, with an area of almost 200 square meters, has been operating under the name “Absolute Run – Jogging Plus” since it reopened last week. The specialist retailer’s second location in the Belgian capital of Brussels will be “converted into the ‘Absolute Run’ store over the course of the year,” announced Sport 2000.
Christoph Görner, Retail Manager Running at SPORT 2000, praised the partnership: “We are very pleased to be opening the first ‘Absolute Run’ store in another European country together with Jogging Plus,” he explained in a statement. “With their high-quality approach and reputation in the Belgian market, they are the perfect concept partner for us to internationalize the Absolute Run brand.”
