Frank de Boer working as a trainer in the Middle East

Frank de Boer has found a new job as a trainer. The 53-year-old Monnickendammer will start working for Al-Jazira in the United Arab Emirates. There he succeeds former Ajax coach Marcel Keizer.

De Boer signs a two-year contract with Al-Jazira. Several Dutch trainers have been employed at the club in the Middle East in recent years. Henk ten Cate, Keizer, Damien Hertog, Jurgen Streppel and again Keizer already preceded De Boer. Keizer guided the club to the national title in the United Arab Emirates in 2021. At Al-Jazira, De Boer meets an old acquaintance with former Ajax player Thulani Serero.

De Boer was head coach at Ajax between 2010 and 2016. With the team from Amsterdam he became national champion of the Netherlands four times. De Boer then went to work for Internazionale, Crystal Palace and Atlanta United. At the 2021 European Championship, De Boer was national coach of the Dutch national team. There, the Orange was eliminated in the eighth finals.
