The radiant spring weather on Saturday offered the ideal conditions for the start of ‘Summer in the Mare’. The next four weekends will be all about music, theater and if all goes well, even more nice weather. The festival has become a permanent fixture for Alkmaarders. Visitors in the Rekerhout tell the media partner Alkmaar Central that they really looked forward to it.
Zomer in de Mare is the prelude to the well-known cultural festivities on Canadaplein in the city centre, ‘Zomer op het Plein’. The cultural weekends in De Mare are suitable for all ages and are intended for all Alkmaar residents.
It is certainly a major attraction for residents of Alkmaar Noord. “I look forward to it starting every year,” says one of the visitors.
