5:3 spectacle against Poland: German U17 national team in the European Championship final

Residue turned twice

The German U17 footballers have reached the final of the European Championship for the first time since 2015. Coach Christian Wück’s team beat Poland 5-3 (1-2) in Felcsút/Hungary on Tuesday. In the final on Friday (2 June) in Budapest, Spain or France will be the opponents.

Hoffenheim’s Max Moerstedt (22nd), Dortmund’s Paris Brunner (57th) and Charles Herrmann (65th), Schalke’s Assan Quedraogo (79th) and Robert Ramsak from FC Bayern (83rd) scored the goals for the enthusiastic performance German team. The Poles were twice ahead thanks to goals from Daniel Mikolajewski (7th) and Karol Borys (31st), Filip Wolski (68th) had provided the equalizer shortly after the first German lead.

The young Germans had already secured participation in the U17 World Cup by beating Switzerland in the quarter-finals.
