Rude receipts for Finns! The Canadians let it burn after the World Cup gold

The champions teased the Finns. Germany’s skyrocketing growth story was enough for silver, which the country can be proud of.

Canada did not dazzle. It didn’t have the best NHL stars with it in Riga and Tampere.

The team’s material was made up of good, but not superstar players.

Still, the team in the maple leaf shirt captured the world championship after a year off.

In 2015, Canada ended its dark streak without a medal that lasted five World Cup tournaments. Since then, the gold has been washed four times.

The talk about a not-so-famous Canada had clearly gone under the skin.

– The Finnish media wrote that this is one of our worst World Cup teams! Still, we got all the gold medals around our necks, said the mustachioed Canadian pack after the final Jacob Middleton.

– We had adversity, and many things were said about us. It feels really good. He laughs best, he laughs last, master head coach André Tourigny said.

The NHL champion joined in the same trend Milan Lucic.

– We heard that some people said that this is not a strong group. We grew together and we felt like we got better every game. It made us champions, Lucic said.

Germany, the super surprise of the Games, offered tough resistance.

Silver place depressed the minds, although the Germans’ ability to stretch made them top achievers.

– My heart is broken. This was a really heavy loss.

– I can still be proud of our German-Finnish team Samuel Soramies would say

In the hands of Germany

Right from the opening set, Germany took command of the puck and made the Canadians think.

One of the biggest stars of the Games John-Jason “JJ” Peterka got hold of the rubber and shot a perfect shot into the back corner.

Canada pulled out all the stops. Judiciary Tobias Björk and Sean MacFarlane went to check on the video if Peterka was offside when he got hold of the puck.

The Canadians’ request for a review seemed understandable based on the slow-motion images. However, the result of the awkward situation was that Germany’s goal was accepted.

Canada’s effective counter-attacks already worked against Leijon, and the same happened in the final. Sammy Blais was allowed to finish By Peyton Krebs from the back post of the preliminary work to the net.

Like Germany’s star defender Moritz Seider said, Canada really wasn’t better throughout the 60 minutes. The game remained even in the second period.

Daniel Fischbuch hit, and the puck bounced off the keeper by Sam Montembeault in the armpit.

The WC final gathered 10,000 puck fans at the Nokia Arena, and most of them were hoping for a surprise from the underdog.

The German lead still did not hold until the end of the set. Lawson Crouse tied the punts with a power play.

It foreshadowed an exciting three-set, but Canada showed their toughness.

Canada got hold of the trophy right at the beginning of the three-set. The German keeper dazzled in the match Mathias Niederbeger couldn’t capture the loose puck, and Blais cleaned it up in the backpack.

Germany’s World Cup tournament was a heroic story of growth. The first three preliminary league matches ended in defeat. From then on, the team played with their backs against the wall.

Nine minutes before the final buzzer, Germany wasted their own superior attack. Canada reciprocated by three to one. Tyler Toffoli did not pass, but shot between the legs of a surprised Niederberger to make it 4–2.

It knocked out Germany, and there were no more miracle climbs. In the leading position, Canada was masterful.

It knocked the last one out.

– The loss makes me think about how well I did in the final. Still, this was an excellent trip for us. The team grew, fought and gave everything, Peterka summed up.

The silver medal that glittered around his neck is the greatest achievement that Germany has ever achieved in ice hockey.
