Turkey eagerly awaits presidential election results: polling stations closed, opposition reports several incidents

Turkey eagerly awaits the results of the second, unprecedented round of presidential elections. Since 8 a.m. local time (7 a.m. Belgian time) on Sunday morning, citizens have been able to vote for incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan or his challenger Kemal Kilicdaroglu. Election day appears to have been generally orderly, apart from a few incidents reported by the opposition. The polling stations have been closed since 4 p.m. Belgian time. Preliminary results are expected in the evening.
