Moscow fears that Britain may attack Russia. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova. She urged London to prove that no attack was planned.
“Let Britain now prove that it is not going to attack anyone, that it has no such intentions. After all, it was the British combat destroyer that plowed the Black Sea and invaded Russian territorial waters,” Zakharova is quoted as saying “Interfax”.
Zakharova remembered the incident with the British destroyer Defender in June 2021, which invaded the territorial waters of Russia.
“We now have a strong feeling that perhaps Britain wants to attack us. Perhaps it was a rehearsal. We need to explain ourselves. Convince us that you have no such plans, Mrs Truss,” Zakharova addressed an appeal to the minister British Foreign Affairs Liz Truss.
Previously, Zakharova urged Truss to pull up the geography. This happened after Truss announced that the UK would supply weapons to the Baltics. across the Black Sea. Prior to this, Truss stated that Ukraine was attacked first the Mongols, and then the Tatars. And recently surprised everyone by not considering Voronezh and Rostov as Russian territories.
