The body of a man who died at least five months ago was found in an apartment in Den Bosch on Saturday morning. The dead body was found by the police.
The man died of natural causes, according to an investigation. The news about the death is shared by the Den Bosch police in a message on Facebook.
The message is mainly an ‘urgent appeal’ to keep an eye on neighbors. ‘Look out for each other. Do you suddenly no longer see and hear your neighbor? Is the mailbox no longer being emptied? Is it different than usual, call us. No one deserves to go unnoticed for so long,” the message read.
Social control with neighbors is important, especially with older people or ‘people who behave like hermits’, the police write: ‘Be on the safe side and call 0900-8844.’
‘Word shortage’
The news about the deceased man is saddened. “Terrible, no one notices that for five months, does no one miss him? Words are short,” says Wendy. “How sad,” says Jacqueline. “Until his last day no one left and then no one noticed for five months.”
“Thank you for this message,” says Cokka when the police call to look after each other. “There’s so much loneliness.”
“My neighbor and I send each other three smileys every morning to make sure everything is okay with each other,” says Miriam.
