Brecht Dejaegere leaves Toulouse FC
The 31-year-old West Fleming has so far played 34 times for Toulouse this season, in which he scored four goals. There are two more league matches scheduled in France. Toulouse is thirteenth in the standings, and already certain of retention. In September 2020, Dejaegere made the switch from AA Gent to Toulouse, a then second division club in France. The first season he played on a rental basis for the Purple Shirts. It was subsequently taken over permanently. Last season, as captain, he celebrated the title in Ligue 2 with Toulouse.
Dejaegere was active earlier in his career for KV Kortrijk (2010-2013) and AA Gent (2013-2020). With the Buffalos he became champion of Belgium in 2015. As a youth player, he also worked for Club Brugge. In addition to Dejaegere, the Dutch midfielders Branco van der Boomen and Stijn Spierings and the French goalkeeper Maxime Dupé are also looking for other places next season. Toulouse says goodbye to the foursome on social media. “You have become real legends of TéFéCé”, it sounds like. Saturday evening, before the home game against Auxerre, the four receive a tribute from the fans.
