Preparing for the FIBA 2023 Women’s European Championship, the National Women’s Basketball Team defeated Latvia with a score of 75-51 in the special match played in Istanbul.
Before the FIBA 2023 Women’s European Championship, the National Women’s Basketball Team faced Latvia in the second match of the preparation tournament held in Istanbul. The match played at Sinan Erdem Sports Hall started with five of the crescent and star players Olcay Çakır Turgut, Sevgi Uzun, Gökşen Fitik, İlayda Güner and Tilbe Şenyürek. Nationals finished the first half of the match ahead 41-33. For the crescent-stars, Alperi Onar and Derin Erdoğan scored 13 points each, and Olcay Çakır Turgut scored 9 points. Aleksa Gulbe scored 13 points for Latvia.
The Nationals will face Germany in the third match of the tournament on Saturday, May 27. The match at Ahmet Cömert Sports Hall will start at 19.00.
