Rome, Olimpico open to fans for the Europa League final

After a week-long push and pull, the Giallorossi will be able to watch the Europa League final at the Foro Italico stadium

Now even the most superstitious can breathe a sigh of relief. After a week-long back-and-forth, Roma fans who weren’t able to secure a ticket for the Europa League final in Budapest will be able to watch the match against Sevilla at the Olympic stadium. Just as happened on 25 May 2022 on the occasion of the victory in the Conference League, once again the Giallorossi will meet in the Foro Italico stadium to push away José Mourinho’s Roma in the “battle” that could give Pellegrini and his teammates the second consecutive trophy.

At work

The Questura has just signed the ordinance authorizing the opening of the stadium following a request from Roma to Sport e Salute, which manages the facility and is already working with its experts to preserve the turf in view of the match against Sunday 4 June against Spezia. All the previous hypotheses – piazza del Popolo, Circus Maximus, piazza San Giovanni – have been discarded with the passing of the days because they were deemed by the Municipality to have too much impact on the citizens.

Exodus

In the meantime there are thousands of Roman fans who continue to look for a way to reach Hungary and watch the match at the Puskas Arena. Direct flights have been out for some time now, fans work in airports all over Europe, on journeys halfway between trains and planes and many have chosen to travel with a minivan directly from Rome. The tickets made available to the club were 15,500 and they sold out in a matter of hours. For this reason, many are on the hunt for a coupon, even at the cost of paying staggering sums. There is no shortage of those who, regardless of the stadium access ticket, have already decided to leave. The ticket will be thought of in Budapest. What matters is being there and staying as close as possible to the team.
