Cagliari, doors open for training: and it’s an invasion of fans

In two days the challenge of the preliminary playoff in a single match against Venice: this morning Ranieri granted free access to the rossoblù public to boost the environment. And it was a success

The push of a city to try to return to Serie A after only one year. Claudio Ranieri opened the Thursday session to the public at the Unipol Domus in his Cagliari in view of the first playoff round on Saturday, at 20.30, against Venice. Match in Sardinia that for the rossoblù will represent a sort of challenge to the past, precisely against the lagoon players, at the Penzo, in fact a year ago Pavoletti and his teammates lost the top flight for a 0-0 and for the inability to score a single goal in 90 minutes to an already relegated team.

LOAD

Over 500 fans warmed up the atmosphere of Ranieri’s team session. Choirs, smoke bombs and applause from the open sector of the Curva Nord. With the Roman coach and his players who, before starting training, met their supporters for a brief interview and to receive the charge in view of the inside or outside clash against Venice.

GOOD MOOD

And Ranieri himself joked with the supporters: “I have to do shooting sessions on goal, but if we shoot the balls here then give them back to us”. With the square that has practically exhausted all the seats available for Saturday’s match, with the historical record for the temporary stadium of Cagliari of eight thousand coupons sold in a few hours on Wednesday. On the pitch Ranieri tested his team with a series of themed matches trying to always keep tension high for the coach who is looking for his second promotion to the top flight with the islanders, after taking Cagliari from C to Serie A at the beginning the nineties.

WORDS

“I asked my boys to give everything – Ranieri himself confessed at the end of the session -, the playoffs are like derbies, they have their own history and there are no favourites. We arrive at this commitment with a free head after a good run-up. Last year Venice made his mark and Cagliari didn’t. Venice has nothing to do with relegation and there must be no thoughts whatsoever. This year is different, we both entered the playoffs in pursuit, like at the Palio di Siena, and now we’re playing our chances. Surely, however, we are not the ones in the first round who scored 4 goals”.
