“She had an incredible joie de vivre”

Moderator and entertainer Thomas Gottschalk spoke on Thursday morning (May 25) about Tina Turner, who died on May 24. In the “SWR3 Morning Show” the 73-year-old told the presenters Anneta Politi and Kemal Goga: “She had an incredible joie de vivre, so she was actually always in a good mood. You see a lot of artists in this job who collapse when the cameras are gone, and Tina Turner wasn’t one of them.”

Turner liked to dance: “She also got me into ‘Wetten, dass ..?’ asked to dance. And she was burdened with a past that probably would have thrown other women off track. But not Tina Turner.” Gottschalk had known the musician since the 1960s and later repeatedly stood on stage with her as show host.
