Champions League contender SC Freiburg will have to do without the midfielder for two Bundesliga games after Nicolas Höfler’s red card. This was announced by the German Football Association (DFB) after a decision by the sports court.
Höfler will be missing on Saturday (3:30 p.m. / Sky) at Eintracht Frankfurt and on the first day of the new season. He also misses the last competitive game of his good buddy Nils Petersen, who retires after this season.
The club and players have already approved the verdict that followed a red card in the home game against Wolfsburg (2-0).
