The district court in Potsdam has dismissed a complaint about the large-scale raid against members of the climate protection extremists Last Generation.
The state security chamber of the court confirmed the initial suspicion of the formation of a criminal organization, said Cyrill Klement, spokesman for the Neuruppin public prosecutor’s office, on Monday.
The public prosecutor’s office is investigating the disruption of public services and the suspicion of forming a criminal organization.
On December 13, police and prosecutors searched eleven homes and rooms belonging to members of the Last Generation in at least six federal states. The reason for this was several attacks by climate activists on the PCK Schwedt refinery, as Klement explained. Among other things, the oil supply was interrupted. In some cases it was just an attempt.
After the raid, the Neuruppin public prosecutor’s office received several hundred self-reports from climate activists. These would also be checked, said Klement.
