VEENDAM The Learning and Sports Park of Winkler Prins in Veendam has been officially opened. There was a varied program with an official and a sporting part.
The official part from 2pm to 4pm was for invitees only. The attendees were taken through various presentations in the years-long process of the construction of the new Learning and Sports Park. The official opening ceremony took place at 4 pm, in which alderman Henk Jan Schmaal and a number of students of Winkler Prins played an important role.
Winkler Prince Run
Following the official opening, enthusiasts could participate in the 3-kilometre Winkler Prins Run across the Leer- en Sportpark. Despite the weather, the participants and spectators had a lot of fun. All participants completed the Run and received a nice medal. A Kids Run of 1.5 kilometers through the buildings of Winkler Prins was organized for primary school pupils. Guests and other interested parties also had the opportunity to walk through the beautiful, new school buildings of Winkler Prins this afternoon and to discover the Leer- en Sportpark.
Modern educational accommodation
Modern and sustainable educational accommodation has been realized in good cooperation with the municipality of Veendam. The result is impressive: beautiful buildings where students and employees of Winkler Prins can learn and work for years to come.
