Lee Towers gives Duncan Laurence’s image the final blow. The beloved singer joins the critics who are completely done with this Eurovision figure. “It is below par.”
Duncan Laurence has ensured that our country has won the Eurovision Song Contest again after 44 years, but he does not enjoy hero status in the least. People are well done with him, especially after he threw in this year’s entry, Mia & Dion, as a ‘mentor’, and after the revelations of lyricist Wouter Hardy.

This Wouter, who co-wrote the winning song Arcade, states that Duncan is a real snake in everyday life. He tells in it AD how they had agreed on Arcade’s royalty rates, but that Ilse DeLange, who released the song, completely disagreed.
And what happens then? “After the performance we ran into each other and Ilse tackled me hard. Verbally, but she also grabbed my arm and squeezed it very hard,” says Wouter. “Once outside I reminded Duncan of our mutual agreement. Suddenly he knew nothing about it. I was completely shocked.”

The well-known TV tweeter Victor Hopman finds it painful that Duncan sang You’ll Never Walk Alone. “Ironic when you had to accompany a musical duo but you didn’t show yourself at all 😂.”
