On May 13, 2023, the John Cranko classic “Onegin” based on the novel by Alexander Puschkin will be screened twice in a row at the State Opera.

In one day there will be two languishes and two shots: the State Ballet will show John Cranko’s “Onegin” in the afternoon and evening of May 13, 2023.

The story is about a young woman who falls unhappily in love and a flirtation that ends in a deadly duel. The ballet is famous for its breathtaking pas de deux. Today’s performances include Iana Salenko, Marian Walter, Elisa Carrillo Cabrera and Evelina Godunova.

For people who don’t know the story after Alexander Pushkin, take handkerchiefs with you! The ending is just heartbreaking!
