“Sky” has not found a free-to-air TV partner for Formula 1. The pay TV broadcaster is therefore initially showing two races free of charge on the Internet.
According to the company, the Grand Prix of Imola (May 21) and Budapest (July 23) can be seen on “skysport.de” as well as on the “Sky Sport” app and YouTube channel.
“Sky” has been the only provider in Germany to show all Formula 1 races since 2021. “RTL” had broadcast four races per sub-license in the past two years, but opposed a new contract with the pay-TV broadcaster decided.
The search for an “RTL” successor was unsuccessful. According to the contract with Formula 1, four races per season must be free-to-air.
