Bas Sibum (40) will be the new trainer of Roda JC. He is currently assistant coach of Dick Lukkien at FC Emmen.
Sibum will succeed Edwin de Graaf, whose expiring contract in Kerkrade will not be extended. He will be presented on Tuesday at the Parkstad Limburg Stadium.
For Sibum it will be his first job as head coach. He has been an assistant coach in Emmen for the past four seasons and obtained the highest trainer’s diploma in 2021. In 2007 and 2008, the former midfielder played twenty games for Roda.
Roda was looking for a young, eager trainer. “He must be progressive and have a clear style of play that he can convey well. It is important that he is close to the group,” said the new football affairs manager Robbie Servais earlier about the search.
