Sebastian Samuelsson drew attention to himself during the past biathlon season, particularly at the World Championships in Oberhof. The Swede is currently enjoying a well-deserved break. In the summer there could then be a special meeting with a Norwegian cross-country legend.
Sebastian Samuelsson and Petter Northug know each other from a joint TV production for the TV4 station. The biathlete and the former cross-country skier also meet frequently during the winter sports season.
The two Scandinavians could meet privately this summer. When Samuelsson last opened the barbecue season, Northug wrote on Instagram: “Congratulations! See you midsummer.”
So are the biathlon star and the cross-country skiing icon celebrating the traditional Swedish festival together? “I don’t think so, but I answered that he only has to come by if he brings meat. Maybe he’ll come, who knows,” Samuelsson said jokingly in an interview with “Expressen”.
Sebastian Samuelsson shines at Biathlon World Cup
In the last biathlon season, the 26-year-old was particularly able to show off at the World Championships. In Oberhof, Samuelsson won the gold medal in the mass start and bronze in the individual, pursuit and relay.
Most recently, the Swede enjoyed the break from biathlon. “The holiday was very good. It was a long winter with a lot of competitions, so it’s nice to be able to let go for a while. I really enjoyed it, had a nice week in the mountains, went to Stockholm for a weekend and so on . It was great,” revealed Samuelsson.
The ski hunter recently completed a Harry Potter marathon with teammate Jesper Nelin. The Swedish biathlon stars spent around 20 hours together in front of the television to watch the film adaptations of JK Rowling’s novels. The whole thing was documented on social media.
