First Integral Battery Recycling Center in Argentina

One of the big problems are batteries, not only because the vast majority of people know that they should not throw them in the trash but they don’t know where to take them once they are no longer useful. In this context, a company that manufactures starter batteries inaugurates a Comprehensive Battery Recycling Center in the town of Ayacucho, province of Buenos Aires. The first in our country. And to celebrate its launch, they organized a 7 km race. that will summon runners and athletes from all over the country.

The recycling center will be inaugurated by the Mateo Hermanos group, an Argentinian manufacturer and distributor of starter batteries, next Sunday, May 14, at the site where the industrial plant operates, located at Ruta 50 Km 73.5 in Ayacucho.

The initiative was announced by the company within the framework of its 50th anniversary, as part of the development of the national industry and focused on caring for the environment. And it will generate more than 80 new sources of employment.

The recycling process, which uses state-of-the-art technology, extends the company’s responsibility until the end of the battery use process, seeking to recover them and give them a new destination. And they calculate to process 140,000 batteries per month, recycling 60% of lead, 20% of plastics and 15% of sulfuric acid. of disused batteries that it will collect from the more than 500 distribution centers it owns in different parts of the country.

“Green Run: footprints for a sustainable future” is the name they gave to the race with which they will open on May 14. It will have two modalities: 3 kilometers of walking and 7 kilometers of running; and will not be canceled by rain. And those who want to participate can register until May 11 on its website.
