In Drenthe, as in the rest of the northeast of the country, there are local fog banks, reports the Royal Meteorological Institute (KNMI). Code yellow is therefore in force in the provinces of Friesland, Groningen, Drenthe and Overijssel.
Locally, the fog can hinder traffic with a visibility of less than 200 meters. The fog may possibly spread further, according to the KNMI.
The warning is in effect until 8 a.m. Saturday morning.
