Borussia Mönchengladbach brings Hertha talent Lukas Ullrich

“Learn and Attack”

Borussia Mönchengladbach has secured the services of Lukas Ullrich. The 19-year-old left-back has signed a contract until 2027 and will not charge the “foals” due to his expiring contract with Hertha BSC.

“Lukas is a promising talent. So far he has made a great development, with Hertha, but also in the U19 national team, of which he is the captain. He’s an exciting player and we’re delighted that he has decided to join us,” said Gladbach’s sporting director Roland Virkus. Ullrich commented: “Borussia is a big club. I’m happy to be here, to learn from the experienced players and then to attack.”

Gladbach was already one of several Bundesliga clubs interested in Ullrich last year. However, Hertha opted for an extension for the young player, who can be used anywhere on the left. However, the Berliners did not succeed in showing Ullrich a suitable perspective in the club. The player refused to stay several weeks ago. For Borussia it is the first external signing after the departure of three regular players had already become known, including left-back Ramy Bensebaini (28).
