In the Prinsentuin in Leeuwarden is a statue of a woman on a bicycle. Bent over and with the bags heavily loaded, she bravely pedals on. Until recently, writer Judith van der Steeg did not even know about the artwork. Let alone that it is inspired by her very own grandmother. For Meer, she reconstructed history together with her father and found out what role her grandmother played in World War II.
