The Straubing Tigers have lost their top scorer Taylor Leier.
The club from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) announced this on Saturday. The Canadian decided to “have a different offer in Europe,” the club said.
Straubing’s sporting director Jason Dunham described the 29-year-old as a “leader” and “real role model”.
In the past two seasons, Leier has contributed 101 points in 109 games and twice led his team to the quarterfinals of the playoffs.
