There have been some rumors about Rammstein’s new record in the past. The new album should be released before the start of the US and European tour in May. Producer Sven Helbig has now provided some background information about the new album.
Helbig, who is responsible for the band’s orchestra parts, told “sächsische.de” the banal reason for the delay in publication: lack of paper. Delivery bottlenecks would currently make it impossible for the band, like many other musicians, to produce enough booklets and covers.
And that, although the album is otherwise apparently finished. In any case, Helbig explained in an interview that his work was done. “I delivered two weeks ago. For the band, this stagnation is now annoying. The six don’t know anymore when the album will be out or if the tour will take place this year. They want to keep going, they want to play. But instead, like almost all musicians at the moment, they sit there impatiently and wait for decisions to be finally made,” says the composer.
Helbig did not want to reveal any details about the content of the new album. But this is also difficult because the band often completely overthrows or changes songs at the last moment. “Till refuses to rewrite a text that Richard finds stupid. Or the guitarists can’t agree on a riff,” adds Helbig. So fans will have to be patient.
In any case, the crew of the International Space Station (ISS) has already heard the band’s new material, as Rammstein drummer Christoph Schneider announced on Instagram in October 2021. At the time, Schneider said that the contact with space could be of importance for the new album, but without going into further details.
