The first designs for the new Zeelaan in De Panne were created in collaboration with residents, traders and catering operators.

“A group of so-called ‘Meedenkers’ set to work accompanied by external experts. During a walk through the street and a discussion afterwards, the Meedenkers exchanged many ideas,” explains Wim Janssens, alderman for Public Works in De Panne.
Everyone also gets the chance to give their opinion at the information market.
Already rebuilt
In 2011, the Zeelaan was completely redeveloped. The cost was then 4 million euros. But the tiles soon became loose and are dangerously slippery.
And so the Zeelaan is being reconstructed after barely twelve years. The municipality is allocating 1.7 million this time.
