This is how the climate ultras could be stopped

From the BZ editorial team

The radical climate activists paralyze Berlin. The police clear them off the street, take their personal details, then stick them on again. Does it have to stay like this? No, there is another way.

You could take action, but Interior Senator Iris Spranger (61, SPD) doesn’t do it.

► Firstly, the Senate could ban meetings without registration by means of a “general decree”.

► Second, the Senate could apply to the court for preventive detention for notorious stickers (as in Munich).

► Thirdly, the procedures at the public prosecutor’s office could be accelerated.

► Fourth, the Senate could set up a compensation platform for injured drivers.

On Thursday, CDU leader Kai Wegner (50) will be elected governing mayor. Will he enforce these measures?

After all, election winner Kai Wegener uses the first name of Bettina Jarasch

Wegner turned to the climate stickers on Monday: “If you’re serious, stop these actions and talk about climate protection!” Stop with these actions!”

What does the governor say? When asked by the BZ, Franziska Giffey (44, SPD) replied: “With their actions, the activists of the ‘last generation’ are damaging the desire to achieve more for climate protection.”

Furthermore: “One thing is clear: climate protection is one of the most urgent tasks facing mankind. However, this can only be overcome through a joint effort – not through blackmail and vandalism.”
