Mads Nørgaard opens first flagship in Germany

The Danish fashion label Mads Nørgaard moves to Berlin Mitte.

The store at Münzstraße 7 is the label’s first flagship store in Germany. In the future, customers will be able to discover the collections of the designer of the same name as well as the ‘#101 T-Shirts’ designed by his father Jørgen Nørgaard in 1967. The store will also house various collaborations between the brand and artists. Most recently, as part of International Women’s Day, the label launched a collaboration with Danish-German artist and women’s rights activist Ursula Reuter Christiansen.

The shop space was designed by the Danish architecture and interior design office Studio David Thulstrup. The various design elements combine “Danish classics with Berlin-inspired industrial materials,” according to the statement.

“When I grew up in Copenhagen, Berlin had all the contrasts, the rough edges, but also all the conservative glamor. I came to Berlin on the night the Wall fell in 1989 and was fascinated and shocked at how the old East suddenly took over the cultural scene,” says designer Mads Norgaard. “From an early age I dreamed of opening a shop here, in the heart of the old east. So here he is. A dream that comes true in the Münzstrasse. Our own shop in Berlin Mitte. Welcome!”

Mads Nørgaard’s store at 7 Münzstrasse opens its doors on April 27th.
