According to the politician, he decided to go for prophylaxis because of the rising temperature. At the same time, Zyuganov did not directly answer RBC’s question whether he tested positive or negative for coronavirus.

Leader Gennady Zyuganov told RBC that the reason for his preventive treatment was fever, but now he feels fine. “Two days ago, the temperature rose, I decided to prophylactic [лечь в больницу]”, – he said.

The temperature was quickly brought back to normal, and it did not rise over the weekend, the leader of the Communist Party added. The pressure, according to him, is now also normal and, in general, all the tests are good.

Zyuganov did not directly answer RBC’s question whether he tested positive or negative for the coronavirus: “I have a lot of my own problems, if only for the coronavirus. It develops faster in chronic patients, they may not feel it, ”he said.

Zyuganov is 77 years old. On February 11, he went to the hospital for prevention, said the head of the press service of the Communist Party, Alexander Yushchenko. According to him, the politician feels fine and will stay under medical supervision for three to five days.

Later, the secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Sergei Obukhov, clarified that the party leader was in the Central Clinical Hospital with symptoms of SARS, but there was no lung damage. “CT showed that the lungs are clear,” he said.
