If one were to add a box to the ballot in June that said ‘Send them all home and replace them with new ones’, that box could score an overall majority. What little respect our political class had left has completely evaporated with the revelations about pension privileges. Who guards the guards? A system in which a group can determine its own remuneration without supervision or outside input only exists in politics.
