A 37-year-old man has been arrested for the second time after his wife and his housemate were both found dead in his flat on Mozartlaan in Tilburg in a year. He was arrested in Vlaardingen on Tuesday, the police and the judiciary reported on Friday. There is now enough evidence to classify the man as a suspect.
The Public Prosecution Service suspects him of being responsible for the death of his wife, aged 33 at the time, on December 14, 2020 and for the death of his 36-year-old roommate on October 19, 2021.
Both victims were found under suspicious circumstances in the home of the arrested man in Tilburg-Noord. The suspect was arrested after finding the first victim, his wife, but was released by the court after three weeks.
Sufficient evidence
He remained a suspect in this investigation. He has now been arrested again and his pre-trial detention has been extended.
“The Public Prosecution Service is of the opinion that there are sufficient facts and circumstances on the basis of which the man is involved in the death of both victims and has asked the examining magistrate to keep the man in pre-trial detention for longer on that basis,” concludes the judiciary. .
