The cover already shows it: Your BIG PICTURE locates this English-born, New York-based singer/songwriter as a domesticity trapped in a snow globe. Such a snow globe can be romantic, the song “Lights Light Up” tells about it in the first part: Two people find each other, fall in love, dream up their own snow globe with common dreams and goals: BIG PICTURE.
But then come the cracks and the questions: “Do you want to leave here one day?” – “Depends on the day!” Fenne Lily has a flair for words sung tenderly with great effect. She developed the music together with the producer Brad Cook, an expert for intimate Americana beyond the clichés. Together they succeed in masterful pieces like “Superglued”, in which Fenne Lily sings in a broken voice about the changing emotional world – and in doing so reaches an intensity like Beth Gibbons, Laura Marling or Beth Orton.
