Life in a van is not always just a dream.
Jerry Ylkänen
Having become known as a news anchor Aino Huilajan and his spouse Jerry Ylkänen life in the van takes a nasty turn when the car breaks down. In practice, this means that travel plans are delayed by at least a few days.
The couple says in their Van Life program that the orange van that serves as a home is taken to a repair shop near the Austrian border.
– It does sound bad. Especially when reversing like this, Huilaja is horrified by the noise made by the car.
– The suspension must have been used for many kilometers, says Ylkänen.
– It doesn’t sound good when driven forward like this, Huilaja continues to be amazed.
– Well, no, Ylkänen is complacent.
– It’s good that we have time for the workshop, Huilaja says with relief.
Huilaja states that although the car is a package traveler’s best friend, it is sometimes also a traveler’s worst enemy.
At the repair shop, it turns out that it was absolutely necessary to repair the car.
– If these parts had not been replaced, the ball joint could have come off, and that would not have been a good thing. In the worst case, when the ball joint comes off, you can lose control of the vehicle and drive off the road, foreman at a local auto repair shop Andre Atz states.
