The ferry across the Orange Canal is an initiative of the residents of Wezuperbrug. The bridge over the canal in the village is temporarily closed due to work. In order not to have to walk or drive for miles, pedestrians can pull themselves across with the ferry. This was used, among other things, during the provincial elections to make it easier to get to the polling station.
The initiator hopes that the ferry will last a total of four months. Until then, the bridge will be out because of the work on the Orange Canal. The police advises placing a warning sign not to use bicycles.
