Bitexen Giresunspor, one of the Spor Toto Super League teams, has reportedly reached an agreement regarding the receivables of New Zealand player Joseph William Champness. In the written statement made by the club, it was stated that Giresunspor, which has a transfer ban for two terms, continues to work meticulously in line with the interests of the club.
In the statement, it was reported that club president Nahid Ramazan Yamak had a meeting with Joseph William Champness, who was in the squad in the 2021-2022 season and who unilaterally terminated his contract and left the team, citing his past receivables.
In the statement, it was stated that an agreement was reached with the player who applied to FIFA regarding his receivables, and it was noted that:
Our President, Nahid Ramazan Yamak, invited the player to our country and held a meeting in Istanbul, and after the meeting, an agreement was reached on the payment plan related to his file in FIFA due to his receivables from the 2021-2022 season. Taking into account the registration period transfer windows published by FIFA on March 31, 2023, and the new changes that allow players without clubs to transfer outside of the transfer period, an application has been made to the TFF in order to benefit from the aforementioned player again for the next season, and necessary initiatives have been initiated. Considering the positive decisions taken by the TFF regarding players with similar status in the previous periods, we state that we expect a positive opinion from our federation in order to re-add our player to our squad starting from the 2023-2024 season, and we present our respects to the sports public.
