Barça return, PSG whereabouts or Saudi Arabia: where does Messi’s future lie?

Like many football fans around the world, I’m excited to see where the journey of what is probably the best footballer of all time will go. From a sporting point of view, I would like to stay in Europe and ideally even return to his old place of work in Barcelona. Yesterday’s Clásico showed how much the Culés want the “prodigal son” to return.

Nevertheless, Messi probably has an exorbitantly attractive offer from Saudi Arabia. Nobody will be able to blame him if he should accept this. On a sporting level, he achieved all kinds of titles and awards and set an almost endless list of records. For that he has my greatest appreciation. Many see money in football negatively, and I don’t want to gloss over the sums in their entirety. Nevertheless, I see it positively that in this world it is still possible to achieve such a steep social ascent from the simplest of circumstances only through one’s own talent paired with extreme diligence. At the latest when Messi accepts the offer from Saudi Arabia, he should become a net worth billionaire.

But regardless of any finances, Messi serves as a role model for many children with his inimitable way of playing football and will continue to be an inspiration for future generations. Unfortunately, I think such stories are mentioned far too seldom these days.

Wherever Messi’s journey takes him, I wish him the best of luck there. I hope to see a few more of his unmistakable flicks into the far corner and directly converted free kicks. Nevertheless, it is sad to see which phenomenal greats of the sport have recently left the big stage or will leave in the short term. I would like to remind you of Cristiano Ronaldo, Roger Federer, Sebastian Vettel and unfortunately Lionel Messi and Rafael Nadal will soon follow. Thank you for all being a part of my childhood and for allowing me to follow your careers in their entirety.
