Yet new forest on the way in Diksmuide after three years of protest

The case is reminiscent of the plans for a forest in Wevelgem. That will not happen for the time being, even after objections from local residents.

Three-year battle

The birds in the forest would pick up the seed from the surrounding fields and the groundwater level would drop. The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries also gave a negative advice.

After three years of battle, the couple is now right. To meet the objections, they provide a strip for grazing sheep and an area with low shrubs for birds and insects.
