The technology company MindGeek, known for its adult entertainment websites, is being acquired by the Canadian Ethical Capital Partners (ECP). ECP informed about it.
According to ECP, their operating model is to invest in companies that require ethical management and regulation.
MindGeek’s most famous sites are Pornhub, Brazzers and Redtube.
A change to safer and more ethical content
With its acquisition, ECP aims to prevent the spread of illegal material on the site that MindGeek visits currently undergoing several legal processes. The company removed all unverified content from its site in December 2020, and has since required user authentication to download videos.
ECP says that it cooperates with various experts in order to make the service a safe and innovative service, with which both users and content producers can express their sexuality.
The videos uploaded to MindGeek’s services will be reviewed and moderated by humans in the future. Uploaded videos will also have a digital fingerprint in the future, so that unwanted content is not shared on the platform in the future.
