The BR Volleys didn’t let themselves be stopped on their way to the semi-finals of the Volleyball Bundesliga.

Eight days after the clear win over TSV Haching Munich, the defending champion also won the second game based on the “Best of three” format and thus qualified for the semi-finals. In the 3:0 (25:18, 25:20, 25:13) victory on Sunday in the Bayernwerk Sportarena, the Berliners did not face any major problems.

From the start, the first in the main round had control of the game against the eighth in the main round and quickly created a point cushion that amounted to eight points at 19:11. Although Hachinger fought back to four points, the team of outgoing coach Cedric Enard secured the set.

In the second set, the briskly started Berliners took a creative break with a 12:4 lead, so that Haching closed the gap to 11:14 before the guests picked up speed again. Due to numerous service errors, a clearer result was missed. Just as confidently, the BR Volleys headed for the semi-finals in the third round and ended the Hachinger season.

The opponent of the volleys in the semifinals has not yet been determined. The first semi-final – then based on the “Best of Five” format – will be held in Berlin in ten days. Coach Enard is not planning any friendlies during this period, but will keep the tension high in training.
