Das makes Swiss cheese from Roderwolder cemetery

“Look, it always starts there. It was still there at the beginning of this week,” says Pronk, pointing to a corner of the cemetery. “There is a grave there that is still regularly visited by relatives and they immediately closed the holes that were dug. But the badger is not discouraged and simply moves on to the graves next to it. He has now been busy in seven or eight places .”

It remains to be seen what measures the municipality can take. Pronk wants to chase away the badger in an animal-friendly way. It probably comes from the nearby De Onlanden nature reserve. “We don’t know exactly what we can do yet,” says Pronk. “In places where we think she (Pronk suspects that it is a female, ed.) Hasn’t come for a while, we close the gaps. Then we just hope she doesn’t come there again.”

There is therefore a chance that Pronk will be found more often in the picturesque cemetery in the near future, but that is part of it, he knows. “And I can’t be caught for one hole either,” he concludes with a laugh.
