On February 24, the benefit concert “Three chords for your donation” organized by Toten Hosen took place. Thees Uhlmann and the Donots were there. The aim of the action was to support those affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

By March 2nd, over 1.6 million euros in donations had been collected. At this point, the pants then decided to top it up again. They sold signed posters of the event, and a number of memorabilia related to the concert were auctioned. Among them Michael “Breiti” Breitkopf’s guitar. With the end of the auction wave, they are now ending this part of their campaign and would like to thank supporters for a total of over 2 million euros. During the auctions alone, another 50,000 euros came together in one fell swoop.

Die Toten Hosen: keep looking!

The funds were forwarded to the German Red Cross eV, Medico International and Doctors Without Borders eV. In their posting, the band also draws attention to the fact that the situation on site is still serious, despite the fact that it is becoming less relevant in the media.

The strong earthquakes in southern Turkey and northern Syria on and after February 6 killed a total of over 56,000 people. 111,000 injured were registered. According to an early assessment by the World Health Organization (WHO), up to 26 million people could be affected by the consequences in the medium and long term.
