The French Assembly narrowly rejected two motions of no confidence last night. This does not alter the fact that, less than a year after Emmanuel Macron’s re-election, the country is becoming increasingly ungovernable. Fire on the fuse this time is a reform that brings the minimum retirement age to 64 years. Why is that necessary? And why don’t the French want to know about that?
