Wöhrl has decided to restructure its management level. As a result, Martin Barzauner will leave the fashion retailer.
Barzauner, who is responsible for sales and central services on the Management Board, is leaving the company on July 31, Rudolf Wöhrl SE announced on Monday. He joined Wöhrl as Managing Director in 2010 and was then appointed to the Executive Board in 2020. Barzauner is leaving the Nuremberg fashion retailer “at his own request when his contract expires”.
From the beginning of August, the Management Board will only consist of CEO Thomas Weckerlein and COO Thomas Rothe. Weckerlein, who is already responsible for the areas of finance, human resources, IT and law, will take over Barzauner’s sales and central services areas. Rothe, who is responsible for purchasing, supply chain, logistics and e-commerce, will be responsible for marketing and CRM. The board receives additional support from two sales managers who report directly to Weckerlein.
“With the streamlining of the management team and the two new sales managers, we are achieving even closer integration with our branches,” said Christian Greiner, Chairman of the Wöhrl Supervisory Board. “Martin Barzauner has helped shape Wöhrl in senior positions over the past few years. His masterpiece was certainly the renovation and new construction of our headquarters in Nuremberg, which he was in charge of and completed on time and on budget in September 2022.”
