The Hamburg fashion jewelery supplier Bijou Brigitte Modest Accessoires AG exceeded its own profit forecast in the 2022 financial year. The company announced on Thursday, citing preliminary, unaudited figures, that the group result after taxes was 35.3 million euros, more than twice as high as in the previous year, when it was 17.0 million euros.
Accordingly, profit before taxes increased from EUR 19.9 million to EUR 46.3 million. It was “well above the forecast range of 20.0 million euros to 35.0 million euros,” said the retailer. The strong improvement in earnings resulted “mainly from the positive sales development after the lifting of the corona protection measures in the individual countries as well as the consistent cost reduction and consolidation of the branch network in the reporting year”.
Bijou Brigitte had already announced in January that sales had surprisingly increased significantly over the past year. The proceeds reached a level of 306.5 million euros and exceeded the level of 2021 by 41.8 percent. The company plans to publish its final results for 2022 in April.
