The Indica band is back – Here’s the new line-up

The nine-year hiatus is over. Indica is now played by Armi Toivanen’s sister Alina.

The rock band Indica, known for its distinctive sound, returns to the stage after a nine-year hiatus. The record company Vallila Music House announced on Thursday that next Friday, March 24, Indica will release the comeback single In 95.

The new song was composed and written by the band’s frontman Jonsu Salomaa.

– In 95 there is a nostalgic song from the time when Scatman was playing on every radio channel and Leviks were the hottest thing in the world. Life was wonderfully simple, and instead of climate change, we fought against too early home times and far too rarely observed candy days, Jonsu Salomaa says in the press release.

Indica, which went on hiatus in 2014, will have a slightly different lineup in 2023 than before. In addition to Jonsu Salomaa, the bassist continues in the band as usual Heini Säisä and a keyboardist Sirkku Karvonen, but the Indica now has a new drummer attached. Having played in a band before Laura Häkkänen replace Alina Toivanen, who has previously played in the bands Risto ja Minä and Ville Ahonen. Alina is also known as an actress Armi Toivanen as a sister.

Jonsu Salomaa commented on the band’s return in the press release as follows.

– We have been meeting regularly for the past four years and thought how great it would be to make new music and gigs together again. The timing now felt perfect and we are really happy that we can FINALLY fulfill the wish of our dear fans who have been asking for our comeback. We decided to contact the production team that made an impact on the Ikuinen virta record and several other Indica records Erno Laitisen and Gabi Hakasen and everything started quickly from there, says Salomaa.

Indica’s more famous hits over the years are Eternal stream, Scarlett, Behind the mountains and Prisoner of his castle. The band’s debut album released in 2004 Eternal stream sold gold and platinum and the next Windy roads from 2006, on the other hand, sold gold.
